CONTAINMENT SOLUTIONS FOR POWDER MILLING

Flow Sciences Announces New L1A Fitzmill Enclosure

Leland, NC – Flow Sciences, Inc. is proud to announce the new design of an L1A Fitzmill Enclosure.  The ¾” Polypropylene framed enclosure features acrylic sidewalls and sash to maximize transmission of natural light and mill-process viewing.  The movable front sash maintains a consistent face velocity to ensure laboratory personnel safety.  The enclosure is also available in stainless steel framing with safety glass sidewalls and sash.

The top-mount fan filter housing is equipped standard with a 4” HEPA filter media which is 99.97% efficient and with increased surface area maximizes diffusion of harmful particulates.  The enclosure is complimented with a 10” round service port for gloves or bag-out safety of samples and equipment parts which minimizes potent compound exposure.  The flexible film bag sleeves are an 8 mil. thick poly with an integrated sample sleeve.

The enclosure is available with the L1A internally or externally mounted (pictured).  External mounted enclosures are available through The Fitzpatrick Company. Flow Sciences, Inc. designs and manufactures safety containment solutions for R&D laboratories, nanotechnology research, automation equipment and robotics, and manufacturing and production plants. Flow Sciences brings improved and customized products to the demanding marketplace ensuring safety and quality solutions.

Controlled Containment Environments

Flow Sciences, Inc. introduces a new series of products to provide tools for process engineers in the powder handling markets. These products are ideal for the pharmaceutical and the emerging nanotechnology industry providing temperature, humidity and aseptic environments while providing personnel protection.

The series is comprised of three different series of products that can be separately purchased or can be utilized together to provide the proper combination to achieve the process goal. Temperature/Humidity control, aseptic atmosphere and inert gas systems are available separately or combined to provide the appropriate combination desired.

The systems combine patented devices produced by Flow Sciences, Inc., products that are sourced and combining them with a digital control technology designed by Flow Sciences as well. The control system provides alarm and control of all parameters within the system and can provide data to central systems to meet regulatory requirements.

SOLUTIONS FOR CONTAINING NANOMATERIALS

Flow Sciences Introduces Nanomaterial Containment Enclosures

Engineered nanomaterials are diverse in their physical, chemical, and biological nature.  Nanomaterials have vastly different properties than their bulk counterparts, and therefore very different toxicologies.  As an emerging science, not much is known about the toxicity of nanomaterials, and the earliest and most extensive exposure to engineered nanomaterials is likely to occur in the work and research environment.  Given the limited information regarding health risks associated with exposure to nanoparticles, work practices and engineering controls should be tailored to the processes and job tasks associated with nanoparticles.

Flow Sciences, Inc. announces the release of a new product brochure containing vented enclosure solutions for nanomaterial containment.  These products satisfy NIOSH recommendations for containing nanomaterials and utilize complex, engineered design features to decrease turbulence inside the enclosure thus minimizing disturbance to any nanoparticles being manipulated and studied.  Solutions are available for virtually all nanomaterial research and production applications and can be customized for specific functions.
