Description
Traditional downward flow bio-safety cabinets cannot adequately contain automated equipment without moving large amounts of air due to the robot models’ lengthy footprints. Flow Sciences’ flexible, energy efficient lateral flow design was developed specifically to accommodate the longer layouts and various shapes encountered on robotic designs. The patented design offers both product and personnel protection for the most popular robot models. The lateral airflow combined with dual filtration provides the highest level of containment available.
HEPA filtered air is circulated through the enclosure protecting the product from outside contaminants. Exhausted air flows through HEPA and/or organic filtration ensuring personnel are protected from harmful particulates, gases or fumes. Through the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), a process that utilizes computer modeling techniques, Flow Sciences’ designers and engineers are able to map the behavior of fluids and gases in the enclosure, ensuring that maximum containment is achieved. The flexible design facilitates the addition of waste chutes, service access doors or umbilical connections as needed. Clear acrylic construction with unobstructed surfaces allows easy visibility. The fan remains in an uncontaminated area allowing access by maintenance personnel without danger of exposure and the enclosure is easily sealed for decontamination. Units are tested by the manufacturer before leaving the facility and independently by certification testing organizations upon installation.
Because the Lateral Flow Robotic Containment Enclosure is custom designed by application, a Flow Sciences' Representative will work closely with both the client and the robot manufacturer to ensure that the enclosure meets the robot's specific dimensional and operational requirements.
ORDERING INFORMATION
All of Flow Sciences' robotic enclosures are custom designed. To learn more about ordering a custom enclosure, view the Custom Engineered Enclosures Page or fill out the Custom Order Request Form. To ensure that the customer is fully informed of the options available, a Flow Sciences' Representative will be involved from the beginning of the custom order process.
